The use of flexible packaging (bowls, pots, trays and pouches) for packaging heat processed foods has increased the need for tools and methods to monitor how those packs perform through the heat process. With information on the pack performance, a tailored overpressure pressure profile for the product/pack can be developed to ensure minimal distortion occurs during processing, and thus reducing pack failures and post-process contamination risks.
